Great Article from What to Expect....

"Autism awareness and acceptance are good things. The more the average person knows about autism, the better it will be for the community — especially our autistic members. Yet, the average person can't easily define autism. Quite frankly, our experts in autism don't do such a great job of defining it either. It isn't a simple concept, because it isn't a simple state of being."  Here's the entire article:

Autism and Faith

The SaharaCares' Autism & Faith DVD was made in collaboration with Clear Horizons Academy and the Autism Council of Utah.
This interfaith training DVD was created with the intent of:
• Offering ideas to integrate children with autism into different religious settings
• Opening lines of communication between families of a child with autism and religious leaders and congregations
• Creating more of a understanding of challenges that children with autism and their families face on a daily basis

This DVD is designed to be a tool to start the communication process and foster stronger support for families in their various religious congregations.
